You can choose to pay using your PayPal account or with your credit or debit card via The Royal Bank of Scotland's WorldPay Secure Payments Gateway. We also use PayPal as a payment processor - you don't even need a Paypal a/c or need to set one up. If you have a Paypal a/c - you just need your paypal id (email address) or pay via WorldPay, we accept Mastercard, Visa and Eurocard, as well as Maestro, Switch, Solo, Visa Delta and JCB debit cards. (Some of these cards will now have been combined or renamed.)

You can pay through immediate online credit card authorisation (easiest) or you can send your credit card information via phone, fax, or postal mail. You may also order and send us a UK sterling cheque with your order details. This has to be a cheque written in UK Pounds and issued from a UK bank. Scribble on a piece of paper if you want and post it to us but remember - those bampots at the Royal Mail increased 1st class to 36p and 2nd class to 27p on the 7th April 2008.

If you are shopping from outside the UK, place your order and your credit card company will convert the transaction to your own currency. At the payment screen, you can choose to pay in UK Pounds, US Dollars or Euros.

Please do not send your credit card details by email as this is very insecure. GBP means GB/UK Pound Sterling.

Delivery of your order will be made by Royal Mail to all UK addresses. Most orders will be posted within 2 working days, where possible. You will not be notified of dispatch under normal circumstances.

However, please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery of your order. If you still have not received your order after 2 weeks, please contact us by email or phone. If you do not inform us that you have not received your order within 31 days of the order date and your order status is shipped we will not resend or refund the order.

Tax Charges

For orders made for delivery within the UK or the European Union, 17.5% TAX is included. World Wide orders are TAX free and the actual price you will be charged will be displayed after you have selected your country.

Credit Card Security

You will see the gold padlock (bottom right or top right of address bar) - only at the payment screen which is on the secure site hosted by WorldPay at The Royal Bank of Scotland.

We know of no documented cases of credit card fraud using our shopping system over the Internet. Credit card numbers are not held in clear text on any web site. WorldPay uses state of the art security tools and techniques, both proprietary and unique, to ensure that both Effective Care and our shoppers are protected against what is nowadays a virtually non-existent risk. Our systems also have inbuilt system redundancy and fault tolerance, to provide you with a virtually uninterrupted service 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our systems have evolved over many years and throughout our history we have continuously sought and gained bank approval for our systems. By using industry standard SSL, Thawte and WorldPay's unique encryption system, all the shopper's card details are encrypted before they reach the WorldPay system. What happens is when a shopper fills in the payment form and clicks the 'Submit' button, their details are not sent straight-away. Instead a secure link is set up between the shopper's browser and WorldPay producing a private/public encryption code which then wraps the transaction details before leaving the shopper's premises.

Effective Care Ltd. does not have access to customer's credit card details at any point.

We guarantee your satisfaction. We adhere to the UK & European Distance Selling Regulations. We offer a 14 day cooling off period, during which time you may return any products purchased and receive a full refund. Obviously we can't accept returns on some products. Returns must be unopened.

Effective Care Ltd. does not have access to customer's credit card details at any point unless a phone order has been placed. We shred all personal & sensitive data on a daily basis.

Cookies are used on this shopping site, but only to keep track of the contents of your shopping cart once you have selected an item. Think of them like the bottom of your basket. If it's not there, you're products won't be there. Maybe Homer has eaten them.

Data collected by this site is used to:

a. Take and fulfill customer orders

Returns Policy

Refunds will be made by the same method used to pay for the order. Credit card companies only allow refunds to be made to the card used in the original transaction. It can take up to seven working days for a refund to be acknowledged by your credit card company.
